Minna Perhonen is the Finnish word minä = me, perhonen = butterfly, and Akira Minagawa famously named the brand after the Scandinavian lifestyle and culture that he shared. While accumulating hours of thought about Scandinavian lifestyle and design, she has looked at and resonated with the masterpieces of designers such as Alvar Aalto, Hans J. Wegner, Kai Frank and Poul Kjærholm, all of whom she admires and adores. And in the early summer of 2024, Casa BRUTUS will accompany Minagawa on his trip to Scandinavia. This is a guide to Scandinavian architecture and design, following in the footsteps of the master designers, introducing a number of his own collections and explaining their appeal from Akira Minagawa's perspective!
