The first commercial art book by Takeuma, a Kyoto-based illustrator and sketcher. Published as the first volume of “IN/SECTS Art Book Series”. The book includes seventy selection of the author’s sketch work from the zoo. Takeuma's works follow a unique technique, but they are based on thorough observation. His consideration for animals by not using erasers is also noteworthy. Enjoy it in the same format as the actual Moleskine notepad he used.
TAKEUMA Born in 1981, Takeuma graduated from Kyoto Institute of Technology (majoring in graphic design) in 2004. After graduation, he began working as an illustrator under the name “Studio Takeuma” based in Kyoto. He says, “My work is bright, fun, simple, and humorous. Her specialty is conceptual illustrations. In the past, he has lectured in Russia as a sketch instructor, and has also lectured at universities in Japan. He is also scheduled to visit Germany in June 2024 as a lecturer at the international comics festival “Comic Salon” in Germany. In addition, he has received numerous awards and prizes for his illustrations, including the “Applied Arts Illustration Awards 2022.
